Itinerary

Take a look at the shore excursions available for this itinerary.

1

Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Like many southeast Florida neighbors, Fort Lauderdale has long been revitalizing. In a state where gaudy tourist zones often stand aloof from workaday downtowns, Fort Lauderdale exhibits consistency at both ends of the 2-mile Las Olas corridor. The sparkling look results from upgrades both downtown and on the beachfront. Matching the downtown's innovative arts district, cafés, and boutiques is an equally inventive beach area, with hotels, cafés, and shops facing an undeveloped shoreline, and new resort-style hotels replacing faded icons of yesteryear. Despite wariness of pretentious overdevelopment, city leaders have allowed a striking number of glittering high-rises. Nostalgic locals and frequent visitors fret over the diminishing vision of sailboats bobbing in waters near downtown; however, Fort Lauderdale remains the yachting capital of the world, and the water toys don’t seem to be going anywhere.

Half Moon Cay

The Half Moon Caye is a natural monument situated at the southeast corner of Lighthouse Reef Atoll. The crescent-shaped caye is a protected marine reserve that was established as a World Heritage Site in 1996. The pristine caye has breath-taking walk-in snorkelling from the beach, idyllic sandy beaches and magnificent wildlife both in the sea and within the littoral forest.

Cozumel

Measuring 33 miles long and 9 miles wide, this little island offers big rewards.  Known for it’s stunning natural beauty, glass-clear aquamarine seas, and vast marine life, Cozumel will always be a popular cruise ship port of call and firm favourite amongst scuba divers – owing to it’s multiple diving spots across 600 miles of coral reef.

Venture off the beaten path to find deserted, windswept beaches and wild, vibrant natural parks, or head directly across from the docks to Plaza Central, the heart of San Miguel - Residents often congregate here in the evening, especially on weekends, when free concerts begin at 8pm.

Most of the island's restaurants, hotels, stores, and dive shops are concentrated downtown and along the two hotel zones that fan out along the leeward coast to the north and south of San Miguel.

Things To See, Do & Taste In Cozumel:

  • See:  Mayan Ruins of Tulum - One of the most visited archaeological sites in Mexico.  Sat on a seaside cliff alongside turquoise waters.
  • Do: All Terrain Xrail Expedition – A journey into the heart of Cozumel's jungle.
  • Taste:  Cochinita Pibil - Slow roasted pork usually served with pickled onions on tacos or tortas (also known as Torta de Cochinita Pibil or Taco de Cochinita Pibil).

Nassau

The capital and largest city of the Bahamas, Nassau lies on the island of New Providence.  The city has a hilly landscape and is known for it’s beaches, offshore coral reefs, and pastel-coloured British colonial buildings, like the pink-hued Government House.  A popular cruise-ship stop and those with a love for diving and snorkelling.

Accessible via Nassau Harbor bridges, Paradise Island sits just off-shore New Providence island and it’s here you’ll find the dominating Atlantis Resort – home to Aquaventure Waterpark.

Things To See, Do & Taste In Nassau:

  • See:  The Queen’s Staircase – 66 steps carved out of solid limestone, a major landmark located in the Fort Fincastle Historic Complex.
  • Do:  Swim with Pigs at Pigs Beach on Athol Island.
  • Taste:  Fish Fry on Arawak Cay
